* Super G3 - is a widely used advanced image data compression and transmission protocol for fax machines organised by CCITT (Consultative Committee for International Telephony and Telegraphy). Super G3 uses an analogue to digital process: hardcopy is scanned and sent over analogue lines to be received and reconstructed on the other end. Digital encoding using Modified Huffman compression algorithm or other advanced compression algorithms allow fast transmission of 33.6K bps. An A4 paper of 5% coverage can be sent in approximately 2 seconds.
